Beauty Talk: 5 Tips from Artist Cyndle Komarovski

Whenever we see someone with amazing skin or a perfect cat-eye liner, we always want to stop them immediately and ask about what their secret is. So when artist Cyndle Komarovski came by to do the makeup styling on our latest shoot, we jumped on the opportunity to ask her about her own favorite tips. After all, she’s a veteran of the field, having worked for Vogue, Elle, Revlon and Dior Cosmetics, and creating red carpet looks for a variety of celebrity clients. Check out her best bets below.

For your lips…
“For a lacquered lip that stays in place, start by completely coloring in your lips with a lip liner. Apply your lipstick next, and then finish the look by slicking on gloss in the center of your mouth.”

For your face…
“Keep your skin from getting shiny during the day by adding a matte primer as the first step of your makeup routine. It helps keep your foundation in place, too! For a more subtle, natural look, apply your foundation with a damp makeup sponge.”

For your cat-eye look…
“Getting a perfectly even cat eye definitely takes practice. Make it easier on yourself by starting with the eye that’s more challenging for you—it’ll be less difficult to match it on your dominant side.”

For your lashes…
“Give your eyelashes a thicker, fuller look by filling in the spaces between lashes with a black gel liner after you’ve applied mascara.”

For your eye lids…
“Apply a shimmery, white shadow to the inner corners of your lids to instantly brighten up your eyes. It also works like a charm on dark circles for those days when you didn’t get quite enough sleep.”
