  1. Burgundy is the “it” color of the Fall 2012 season. Almost every important designer—from Derek Lam to Yigal Azrouel—showed this color in some silhouette or fabric.
  2. Military motifs and uniform details, such as belts, epaulets, and gold hardware, show up on outerware.
  3. Gothic glamour made its way down the runway in the form of dark colors with lots of drama and sex appeal from designers like Givenchy and DVF.
  4. Expect Asian-inspired silhouettes from the Pacific in pieces by Zac Posen and Pucci.
  5. Embroidery jacquard designs bring a new novelty to simple separates from labels like Proenza Schouler and Rag & Bone.
  6. Winter white is back and bigger than ever.
  7. Hourglass figures are having a moment. Classic, curvy, & waist-defining silhouettes are a must this fall, and can be seen on dresses, jackets and coats.
  8. Rich, jewel tones in emerald green and sapphire will be replacing your LBD for evening.
  9. Fall 2012 is all about leather. Coming back even stronger than last year, brands like Herve Leger and YSL are using leather in every shape and color possible.
  10. Sheer inserts and sleek cut-outs add a sexy twist to dresses (as seen in this Stella McCartney dress from our Spring 2012 Lookbook).
